Resumo

Apiculture is one of the most growing agricultural activities in Brazil. This growth occurs mainly on Brazil's Northeast regions, where apiculture is one of the highlights of family-based agriculture – a trend in those regions. Apicultures's main result is honey, which is highly beneficial for human healthy given its therapeutic and nutritional properties. Therefore, aiming to increase the feasibility of family-based apiculture, a project was conducted by UERN/CNPq purposing the use of honey produced at Moacir Lucena settlement (Apodi/RN) to manufacture toiletries. In this project, soap and shampoo recipes were developed and adapted for using honey as their basis. Those recipes were published to honey producers. In this paper we describe the development of these recipes and the manufacturing process of the aforementioned products.
