Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal;
  • The URLs for the references were reported when available;
  • Figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments, in jpg format and with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi's;
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors, as well as in the TEMPLATE available in the website menu;
  • The manuscript is formatted without authorship identification (Double-blind evaluation guarantee);
  • The title of the manuscript, as well as the abstracts, are written in three languages, including Portuguese and English, mandatory, and French or Spanish;
  • Be aware of the need to translate the article into Portuguese and after acceptance issued by the journal.
  • Inclusion of the ORCID ID and link to the Lattes Curriculum in the URL (brazilians);
  • The text is the result of research of an empirical, experimental or conceptual nature for a master's, doctoral or similar degree;

Author Guidelines

Unpublished articles will be accepted for publication in the Geotemas Jorunal, results of research of an empirical, experimental or conceptual nature, resulting from a master's, doctorate or similar density on a theme specific to geographic science or related areas;

The manuscript must not have been submitted in another publication;

The journal's editorial team will judge the pertinence of publishing articles from related areas present in the journal's focus and scope. Texts not included in this scope will be rejected and archived;

Submissions will be accepted in the following languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish, submission for evaluation in Portuguese is mandatory.

The articles must be edited according to the TEMPLATE available for download in the menu of the journal page.

Articles must be submitted to ABNT standardization, namely: NBR-10520 (information and documentation - citations in documents - presentation, updated in July 2023) and NBR-6023 (information and documentation - references - preparation) from November 2018.

Under no circumstances should authors be identified (guarantee for double-blind evaluation), either at the beginning of the text, along it or in the organization of Illustrations or Tables, where only the word author(s) should appear. All these data must be inserted in the manuscript after the evaluation, when the editors request the corrections of the article for publication;

All authors must be registered, separately, in the electronic submission form, as well as their area of "‹"‹training, degree and professional institution. Up to 04 authors are allowed per submitted article. Under no circumstances will authors be added or removed after the submission has been accepted;

English or Spanish texts must be accompanied by a version of the title and abstract in Portuguese;

The illustrations must have a resolution of 300 dpi, and cannot exceed the size of a page, nor must they exceed their margins, and follow the format .tiff, .jpg and / or .png;

The article must be submitted through the jornal"™s website, where the Editor will forward to two members of the journal's ad hoc evaluator bank, who will make the evaluation.

Copyright Notice

Authors who submit their manuscripts to Geotemas declare that the work is an original article and has not been submitted for publication, in full or in part, in another national or international scientific journal or in another circulation vehicle. The authors also declare that they agree with the transfer of the copyright of the referred article to the magazine Geotemas (University of the State of Rio Grande do Norte), allowing for later publications, as long as the source of its publication is assured. Finally, they assume public responsibility for the article, being aware that any charges arising from a claim by third parties regarding the authorship of the work may apply to them.
