Abstract: In this article, we intend to revisit the struggle of the “Free Our Sacred” campaign and the impact of police repression on the constitution of religious racism. Considering the device of raciality, which Sueli Carneiro talks about, as a decisive factor in the construction of the other for the erasure of knowledge, experiences and trajectories, we seek to emphasize counter-narratives, such as the trajectory of Mãe Meninazinha de Oxum, to discuss the role of campaign to overcome the history of criminalization and discrimination of terreiro people in the country, especially in Rio de Janeiro.
