Abstract

This study intent to understand the importance of religiosity in the construction of cultural heritage and youth regional identity, in Mossoró/RN, in contemporaneity. The local youth has numerous possibilities to construct your identity from the condictons given by cultural and local diversity. To reach the research objectives, besides the specific bibliographic reviews, a survey was conducted among the young people who live in Mossoró. From the results, it can be verified that the local youth has managed a way of live their faith, choosing to believe in the divine by itself, without any formal borders. The religious doctrines don't manifest the same force in the young people routine and in the identity formations as they have done to past generations.
