Abstract

This article is linked to the Postgraduate Program in Language Sciences (PPCL / UERN), and was the result of a research about gender discussions in contemporary society, held in the discipline Gender Languages and Issues. In discussions, we realize that our whole society is made up of groups and that they have their pre-established norms and concepts. In this way, every subject introduced in a specific environment undergoes the process of "normalization", a system of manufacturing the other, following the same models. Thinking about these manufactured identities, we decided to analyze the construction of this new model of man within the children's series Disney Toys. This series, more directed to  children, will be analyzed here in order to interpret how the real wills and the male / female gender relations are being put to this infantile audience. The research is inserted in the analysis of the discourse of French tradition, relying on the concepts of subject, discursive formation, power relations of Foucault (2008), the constitution of the new man in modern society with Eccel and Alcadipani (2012) and Navarro (2008), among other authors. In the analyzed series, we can see the repetition of the discourse of the ideology of gender equality, and we note that the "subject positions" occupied by the characters are not related to being men or women, but of being equal subjects in society.
