Soils and treatments culture of the family agriculture system in areas of high topographs of Areia-PB

The knowledge about the problems that involve the agrarian is necessary for the creation and development of sustainable alternatives of production. The objective of this research is to portray the factors that contribute to the management of soils in the Paraiba swampland, specifically in communities of the family economy system of the city of Areia. With the help of interviews and prestructured questionnaires, visits were made to the communities: Boa Vista, Mundo Novo and Usina Santa Maria. In each community the methodological steps were carried out with 15 farmers, totaling 45. In addition, there was a mapping of land use. The public interviewed consisted of women and men between the ages of 35 and 65, of whom 40% did not complete elementary school. The interviewees adopt a primitive technological level in their fields. There is practically no capital investment for the management, improvement and conservation of land and crop conditions. In summary, in view of the observed practices, there is an environment with compromised edaphic conditions, a management of exhaustion, as well as eminent processes of erosion resulting from planting in Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs).
