FALAS DA CIDADE AS MÚLTIPLAS FACETAS DO LUGAR: ESTUDO DE CASO SOBRE O BAIRRO DE CIDADE NOVA, NATAL-RN

Abstract

The city is a picture that represents yesterday and today, it is the unspoken chaos, everything becomes incorporated into the written messages of the city's tessitura, entertaining in this place starts to develop in a fragmented way, where a portion starts to obtain privileges and another portion is kept in scarcity and misery. Fears, insecurity, violence, fear and threats are protagonists in the construction of the urban imaginary, and the intra-urban texture of Natal-RN presents neighborhoods that are true fragments of exclusion, where there is the presence of innumerable social evils that devastate the experiences of the inhabitants. In this context, the district of Cidade Nova, inserted in the West Administrative Area of the Capital of RN, is configured as an example of how the phenomenon of violence and the fear of crime influence the territorial restructuring of the place. The objective is to evidence the verbal and non-verbal speeches of the city, through the analysis of the urban landscape morphology, and to reach the objectives it was privileged bibliographical survey that resulted in the systematization of ideas referring to authors such as BAUMAN (2008), CARLOS (1997), TUAN (2009), field trips in order to capture images that portray the nuances of verbal and non-verbal speeches in the neighborhood morphology. The analysis of such a delicate theme with territorial experience is a key element, because from the study of territories like Cidade Nova, one can raise the understanding of unique spatial dynamics that govern the daily lives of these territories, and thus promote efficient public policies to meet the needs of these places.
