This article presents a comparative study on the perception of visitors to Parque Estadual Dunas de Natal (PEDN) and Parque Municipal Maurício de Oliveira (PMMO), regarding the importance of urban green spaces and their use during the COVID 19 pandemic. The interviews were carried out simultaneously in the two parks in October 2021, with 50 visitors being interviewed at the PEDN and 50 visitors at the PMMO. The results showed many similarities between the respondents of the two parks, such as the recognition of the importance of green spaces for society, the feeling of low risk of contagion, the importance of sanitary control measures and the necessary closure of parks in times of greater contagion and deaths. However, in a scenario of expanding vaccination and reducing contagion and deaths, even if new variants of the coronavirus emerge, respondents mostly agree that parks should remain open.
