This article comparatively analyzes the socioeconomic dynamics and the reveler profile during the 2025 and 2026 editions of the Natal/RN Carnival, understanding the event as an important driver of cultural tourism and the creative economy. The research is characterized as quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional, using primary data collected by the Potiguar Observatory of Tourism Innovation (OPOTUR) through structured questionnaires applied at the city’s official carnival centers. The results reveal significant changes in the public profile, highlighting the rejuvenation of revelers and the increase in the retention of local residents, which strengthened the circulation of resources within the local economy. In 2026, the event generated approximately R$ 338.98 million, showing economic growth compared to the previous year and an estimated return of R$ 18.83 for every R$ 1.00 invested by the public administration. In addition, high levels of participant satisfaction were identified regarding the organization, safety, and infrastructure of the event. It is concluded that the Natal Carnival has consolidated itself as a strategic instrument for economic, cultural, and social development, although the challenge of attracting more external tourists remains in order to expand the economic impacts on the destination.
