Abstract

The project If This Street Were Mine: Knowing to Recognize aims to promote the appreciation of cultural heritage
and strengthen the population's sense of belonging to the Historic Center of Manaus by using social media as a
tool for scientific dissemination and heritage education. The research adopted a qualitative approach based on
documentary and iconographic research, content analysis, and digital communication strategies developed through
Instagram. The study focused on the streets surrounding Paço da Liberdade, seeking to interpret their historical,
cultural, and tourism significance through accessible language. The results showed that the use of social media
expanded the dissemination of information, increased public engagement, and encouraged interest in preserving
cultural heritage, strengthening the relationship between science, tourism, culture, and society. It is concluded that
digital communication is an important strategy for disseminating scientific knowledge, promoting heritage
education, and preserving urban memory, encouraging the community to recognize and value the historic spaces
of Manaus.
