This study presents the Maré de Inovação project, developed to enhance the visitor experience at AquaRio, Rio de
Janeiro, through the integration of service design, applied neuroscience, and innovation. The research is
characterized as a mixed-method case study based on the Quintuple Helix model, involving universities, the private
sector, government, civil society, and technological innovation. The methodology includes visitor journey
mapping, persona development, international benchmarking, mystery visitor techniques, structured
questionnaires, and the use of neuroscience tools such as portable electroencephalography (EEG) and first-person
point-of-view (POV) recordings. Preliminary results indicate the potential to identify factors influencing visitors'
perception, engagement, and satisfaction, supporting improvements in accessibility, interactivity, communication,
and visitor flow organization. The study concludes that integrating service design, neuroscience, and collaborative
innovation ecosystems provides an innovative approach to enhancing visitor experiences and can be replicated in
other tourist attractions.
