Abstract

The hotel network plays a strategic role in tourism development, particularly in the business and events tourism
segment, by providing the infrastructure required to accommodate visitors and enhance destination
competitiveness. This study aimed to analyze the evolution of the hotel network in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso
do Sul, based on the 2026 Hotel Accommodation Mapping, highlighting its importance for strengthening business
and events tourism. A qualitative and quantitative approach was adopted using primary and secondary data
collected through technical visits to 75 accommodation establishments in the municipality. The data were analyzed
using descriptive statistics and compared with the 2025 survey, complemented by a qualitative analysis supported
by the specialized literature. The results reveal growth in the number of establishments, accommodation capacity,
event facilities, and the adoption of sustainable practices, as well as improvements in service quality and hotel
management. The study concludes that the evolution of the hotel network strengthens Campo Grande's position as
a destination for business and events tourism, although its consolidation depends on the integration of
infrastructure, tourism promotion, professional qualification, and strategic planning.
