THE IRONIC STYLE OF RUBEM BRAGA AND THE STARS OF MIRAKOFF

Abstract

In this article will be noticed the objective to trace the ironic style of the chronicler Rubem Braga. The punctuations of the highlighted author"™s style were seen given the social and historical context of the time in which his artistic works were made, throughout the 20th century. There are genuine reasons for the elaboration of this paper, considering that Rubem Braga through his chronicles still is basis for various research whether in the unified school districts or in the Academia due to the themes approached in his chronicles that although discussed in a twentieth century context, are still prevailing themes because it deals with timeless problems regarding the day-to-day of society. The theoreticians who will contribute to the research will be Sousa (2012), Drummond (2012), Costa (2011), Candido (1992), Santana (2006), Ribeiro (2009), Brandão. This context relation – ironic style in the chronicles of Rubem Braga will be analyzed based on the chronicle "Aconteceu com Orestes" by the aforementioned chronicler, detecting his irony being discharged against the astrological predictions of a character named Mirakoff.
