In this article, we discuss the processes of manifest and constitutive intertextuality in the discursive genre homily within the Catholic religious practices. Those processes are Considered based on theoretical reflections of Mikhail Bakhtin and Norman Fairclough and settings of doctrinal Church itself. Demonstrated that constitutive intertextuality in Catholic homily is highly stable and enduring, which allegedly is linked to the control of utterances entres pastors and faithful by the Vatican.
