This article aims to analyze the teaching/learning process of Cartography in the 6th year of elementary school, based on the concepts and methodologies used in the classroom at Escola Municipal 04 de Junho in the municipality of Ereré/CE. In this sense, a bibliographic review was developed on the topic; carrying out participant observation of Geography classes; application of questionnaires to students based on the BNCC; and interview with the teacher about the concepts and methodologies used in teaching Cartography to 6th year elementary school students. The results showed that Cartography encouraged students to learn geographic concepts, but they experienced difficulties, as the concepts presented did not contain conceptual bases previously constructed in fundamental I, as recommended in the BNCC. It is understood, therefore, that the teacher's training and the students' conceptual construction of Cartography influence the teaching-learning relationship in Geography classes.
