Abstract

The new methods of learning bring dynamism and engagement to the students. Knowing that many schools do not possess technological resources, equipment and even basic school materials, it is important to emphasize the importance of projects/workshops that have free or very low cost. Therefore, the objective of this work was, initially, to identify the profile of a 9th grade class and to propose a Geographic Treasure Hunt for the school as a conclusion of the regency internship at the Elementary II level. Divided into four phases, it had as its starting point the theoretical search for new methodologies and playfulness in the classroom, its impact on the students and its practical application. Next, the previous recognition of the class, in which it was possible to observe the ability and resourcefulness of the students in specific activities. The planning and application is characterized as third phase. It was possible to observe the participation and engagement of all students, even the most intimidated joined their colleagues and were able to participate in the required tests. Thus, using the maxim "by playing you also learn", the workshop proved its value in practice by making students who previously did not participate actively in the classes participate during the proposal of a new activity.
