This paper aims to discuss some challenges Brazilian learners of L2 English have regarding pronunciation. It considers the type of information dictionaries present and discusses what pronunciation model is more appropriate for classroom practice. A second aim of this paper is to present methdological suggestions for pronunciation instruction based on the sequence "˜meaning"™, "˜pronunciation"™, "˜form"™ (THORNBURY; WATKINS, 2007). This methodology has been widely implemented and succesfully tested in the institution where two of this paper"™s authors have worked. This paper aims to prove useful for English language teachers who would like to include pronunciation instruction effectively in their teaching practice.
